There are 4 types of Bullying:
-Physical, the least common
-Verbal, bullies go after "a weak spot" (fat, ugly, short ...)
-Relational, AKA Social Aggression, bullying from within the peer group (this type has devastating longterm effects)
-Cyber, technology at it's worst
There are 3 types of victims or targets:
-Passive or Submissive, these victims will not retaliate and the bully knows this.
-Provocative, this type of victim will fight back but in such a way that results in more bullying.
-Reactive, will take it and take it and take it until one day they blow up and act out in a very negative way, many times hurting themselves or others.
We should strive to create a fourth type.
-An educated, self confident type that knows the appropriate and effective way to tell the bully to stop as well as how to calmly walk away to safety.
